Christine Leitner is an international artist and designer living in New York. After having studied classical gold & silversmithing and design in Vienna, Austria she came to New York to pursue further studies at Parson’s School of Design under Lisa Gralnick. She established her own studio in 1992 and has since been creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces reminiscent of small scale sculptures. A love for art, architecture and products led her to continue to study Industrial Design at Pratt Institute where she received her Masters in 1998.
Since then she has been working as an artist and product & graphic designer. She counts Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, MOMA, Met, Drake Design Associates, Sills Huniford, Noma Copley, and Swid Powell amongst some of her clients. Her work has been exhibited and published nationally and internationally. Should you be interested in her design portfolio or would like to talk to her about custom design pieces please contact her directly.
A body is a work of art and I like to see it as a canvas on to which I create wearable art to be seen and celebrate the body. I like to invoke a reaction from the audience who sees the pieces on the wearer and to engage them in dialogue.
